To gain both knowledge and training in biological science and integrate basic and clinical research at advanced level
The International Ph.D. and Master Program for Translational Science in TMU (Taipei Medical University) provides comprehensive training programs for clinical and translational researches. In this program, we combine expertise from various fields including molecular biology, cancer biology, animal model, aging, proteomic and structural biology, and focus on the discovery and development of clinical biomarkers for oncology, neuroscience, reproductive medicine, stem cell and regenerative medicine. By translating the results of benchside research into bedside treatments, we look forward to enhancing the bio-pharmaceutical research, as well as improving the quality of clinical diagnosis and medical care.
Main objectives of this Program
The two main objectives of International Ph.D. Program for Translational Science in TMU are, (i) to facilitate “benchside to bed side” approaches, and (ii) to train translational scientists. Meanwhile, this program is designed to focus on removing barriers and bridging communication gaps between basic research scientists and the MDs in the field of medicinal researches.
Researchers who are interested in the development and application of technology for diagnosing, monitoring and treating disease are welcome to join in with our outstanding team/family. All members and students will have the chance for hands-on exposure to the design and conduct of experimental medicine studies of updated translational medicine in collaboration with our industrial partners. The best thing is, carried with knowledge on several advanced subjects such as stem cells and gene therapy will be the basic skill, and you may probably become prestige leaders and teachers in the future.
Core Competencies
To develop the ability for translating basic research to applications
To develop the ability to analyze the developing trends of biomedical industry and medical needs with an international perspective
To gain legal literacy related to biomedical industry and develop managerial expertise
